The Church was constructed in 1838 as a ‘chapel of ease’ and became a parish ‘quoad sacra’.  The sanctuary which seats 300, and the church hall were renovated in 2000.  There is a clarinova and a sound system which includes an inductive loop system for those with hearing difficulties.  Our memorial garden formed in 2006 , has disabled access and we welcome all to come and sit in the beauty of this spot to reflect.

Worship

Weekly services begin at 12.00pm, when there is a 5th Sunday in the month meet in Banton Community Centre.  Our children join us before going for their own teaching in The Rainbow Club (2-8yrs) and the Chris (Chriscross) Club (9-12yrs). The children return at the end of the worship for “News Time” and to tell the adults what they have been learning.  A mixture of hymns from Church Hymnary 3 and Combined Mission Praise are sung.
Holy Communion is celebrated – Easter, June, November.  ‘Informal’ communion is celebrated from time to time during weekly worship.
Easter – we join other local congregations each night of Holy Week
Easter Sunday – Family Service 12pm
Watchnight Service – Christmas Eve 11.15pm
Remembrance Sunday – Short wreath laying service at war memorial after morning worship
Commemorative Service – Each November – Service for those wishing to remember love ones who have died.
